After struggling to lift my 50 pound pack on my back and 20 pound pack on my front I realized just how heavy this load I'm carrying would be. Alone the weight of a sleeping bag or few clothes or some toiletries don't add up to much, but combined when forced together into a 65 liter pack it can become a bit overwhelming.
In the same way things we grasp little by little, though they may seem insignificant, add up to become unbearable and weigh us down more than we realize.
While spending these last few days here training before entering the unknown field that is Malawi, Tanzania, and Uganda we had to pray and realize what was weighing us down, and what baggage we need to release.
Control is no longer mine and that is a BIG deal for me. I, through these four days of training have been made aware of the weight on my shoulders and shaken that weight off!
Just like the feeling of slipping a 50 pound bag off your back after a long day, rolling your shoulders and breathing a chest deep sigh of relief I feel relaxed, fully trusted in the Lord and freed. I am ready, open to his will and freed of many burdens. LETS GO!!
"Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you have planned for us" Psalm 40:5
