Monthiversary!!!

So July 1st was the one month anniversary for my team here in Africa. So far we have been in Musul, Kenya living in our tents, out in the bush without running water or electricity, doing house to house evangelism. Now we are in Rukungiri, Uganda working with an all boys school and a health clinic here in town. We hang out with the boys and disciple them. Then at the clinic we pray for patients and help with upkeep of the different wards.

These past 4 weeks have been absolutely amazing. Coming into this trip I knew the Lord was leading me in into a season of discipleship and I was really excited to lead a group of young people into Africa to experience more of the Lord. I knew I would be leading with another individual but I was not sure what to expect. I did not know who I would be co-leading my trip with or who would be on my team. Then Adventures told me about Darby Biasotto, my co-leader. A 20 year old from Delaware who went on a Passport trip t o Uganda a little over  a year ago. From our first skype sessions I knew the Lord had blessed me with an amazing co-leader. Darby has been such a huge blessing to me on this trip. It seems that where I leave off she picks up and where She leaves off I pick up. When I don't have the words to speak to our team or feedback to give, she steps right in and speaks life and wisdom straight from the Lord. Our pairing for this time in leadership is completely the Lord's doing and I could not be more blessed.

Also the Lord has not been lenient in pouring out his wisdom to us in leadership. He has been so great at extending his blessings and goodness on us and our team.  From the beginning Darby and I have been praying the Lord would bless this team, that He would bring vulnerability, depth of relationships and a community that feels like family. And since day one that is exactly what this team has been. This team is the most beautiful depiction of the Kingdom of God and of community that I have ever been a part of. Everyone is so thirsty for more of the Lord, each seeking after Him in so many ways. Without Prompting they daily encourage each other, speaking life and building each other up in Christ. I am so incredibly proud of all of them for being so active in ministry and for being an amazing depiction of Christ.

It is so great to see the Lord provide when it comes to leadership. Every day I am so thankful for how the Lord speaks through me. At least 70% of the words that come out of my mouth are directly from the Lord. He continues to bestow wisdom to my team and co-leader through me and I could not be more grateful. Leading is not something that I can do under my own power and it is great to see the Lord working through me knowing full well that it is Him leading this team. Yes the Lord has molded me into the man that I am today and has given me experiences through The World Race but I know that I could not be successful in leading without Him.

Each morning I give Him all the glory for the growth that has happened in this team and for all the blessings He pours out on us. I expect this last month here in Africa to be a time filled with more growth in the Lord and more of Him being poured out on the people in Africa and our team. Thanks for all your prayers and support back home. This would not be possible without each and every one of you allowing your loved ones to come on this trip and supporting them in prayer and financially. Thank you for giving you loved ones an opportunity to be the hand and feet of Christ here in Africa. God Bless you all!
