Break my Heart for what Breaks Yours

Break my heart for what breaks Yours How many times have I sung these lyrics? Probably over a hundred to be honest.  How many injustices have I looked in the face, and walked right past? Far over a hundred. Unbroken, I have driven by the homeless, I have shaken hands with the alcoholic, I have prayed with the widowed.  I know that some times I have not always had the eyes of Jesus… I have not always seen the world with His eyes and His heart, but overall, I like to think that my heart hurts for the things that are not of God… my heart hurts for people who are just...

Twelve Days

Have I only been away for 12 days, what seems like a long time also seems so short. I don’t yet know everything about my team; our fears, our passions, our view of social injustice of how we perceive God. It’s not like the blind leading the blind though, it’s more like full reliance on God who hands everything to us as we need it, not as we want it. Simply In Awe….

Here I sit in a tiny internet cafe in Mbarara, Uganda. To get here I rode with a driver and 2 other girls (4 people) on the back of a motabota, which is somewhere inbetween a dirt bike and a motorcycle, and they are tiny! Made it Safely

We just spoke with the team leaders and both teams have arrived safely in Uganda.  Tomorrow morning they will begin their time in Uganda with an exciting adventure so stay tuned to what they blog about in the next few days. After that, they are in route to their ministry sites via some very long bus rides and traveling on foot. They will be settling in these next few days and getting some orientation from their host.  Expect to see some blogs rolling out in the next few days as they find internet. Thanks for all the prayers for this team! The Passport field support team

Training camp

So im sitting out in a field near a forest on the beautiful campus of toccoa falls college in georgia. All 16 of us on our team camped out here last night using only 2 tarps, some rope, a wet log, and some rocks. This training camp has been tough but so great so far. The people here are so real and when we all gather, the spirit of God goes crazy. Its impossible to ignore. My team is amazing. Everyone is from different places…atlanta, maryland, new york, denver, missouri, wisconsin, indiana, chicago, philadelphia and virginia. Everyone is so pumped to leave on tuesday but also...
