Senga Bay

Hello from Lake Malawi! Every morning Team AFX gets to roll out of our tents to enjoy God’s beautiful creation.  WE are living just a few minutes walk from Senga Bay on Lake Malawi.  We go swimming, sit on the beach, walk in thsurrounding valleys.  Today is our first day of ministry and we started with bang – carrying bricks from one end of the property to other and playing soccer (the best sport ever)!  We are out in the bush, so internet access will not be available very often, but we will try and get it at least once a week! We are thankful for all of your...

dreams really do come true…

We all have dreams. Sometimes they seem so impossible that we don’t actually believe that they’ll come true.   Coming to Africa was a dream of mine..and God provided and made a way for me to come. I’ve seen people delivered from all sorts of things. Demons casted out of people. The sick healed. We loved on the outcasts of communities. You think you’ve got it bad?

When people see pictures of or hear about Cape Town, they think or see money or beauty. I’ve even heard people say that it’s one of the nicest places in the world. While that may be true…it’s actually a very tough place.                     The need is very great. Each and every person we’ve come in contact with tells us that Cape Town is one of the most dangerous places in the world. They say that it’s not uncommon for people to turn on the news and hear of girls being raped and left on the side of...

Worship

What is this thing we call worship? To me it was the few songs we would sing on Sunday mornings in church. Have a band, some cool equipment and sing some songs. I have been to a lot of churches where they think it is necessary to have big speakers, amazing lights and sound equipment and a huge building. Let me tell you what worship has looked like for us this trip. My favourite worship moment would have to be in Mozambique. Picture a dark night, the only light is the bright stars above us, there’s a group of around 40 people (our team and then the local church) all standing in the...

CP…A God Sized Miracle

A week ago, we were able to go and meet some people at The Hope House here in Swaziland. The people at this place are in critical condition with life threatening diseases and conditions such as HIV/AIDS, strokes, TB, cerebral palsy and others. The head nurse told us that in order for patients to come here, they must make a reservation because they only have so much space. It costs them 20 Rand ($2 USD) a day to stay here. They also must have a family member or friend stay with them 24/7 as their caregiver. As many of you know, God has blessed my family and I with my sister Ashley, who has...
